1 Designated Person
Reefership Marine Services, LLC, has appointed as "DESIGNATED PERSON". He has direct access to the President of RMS.
During the Designated Person's absence from office, he is to transfer his responsibility in accordance with the ISM Code to the ALT DPA.
2 Definition and Functions of the Designated Person
The primary purpose of the Designated Person is to provide a direct link between Master's and Chief Engineers of vessels and the President of RMS. Accordingly he/she can, if necessary, bypass normal communication lines in matters concerning safety and pollution prevention.
He/she has the responsibility and authority to monitor the safety and pollution prevention aspects of the operation of each vessel and ensure that adequate resources and shore-based support are applied as required. He/she accomplishes this by attending staff meetings and by reviewing Master's reports, audit reports and accident/incident reports.
