Key Competencies and Command Mandate:

  • The Master must be properly qualified with an internationally recognized and accepted Certificate of Competency supported by all relevant mandatory certificates (STCW’95 and Flag State).
  • He will typically be promoted from the rank of Chief Officer from within the company pool.
  • He must have the required level of training, competence, and experience with the type of vessel he is to command.
  • Required Experience:
    • Experience in Reefer and/or Container Vessels and in the carriage of Fresh Produce.
    • Familiarity with the trading pattern and area of operation and the working practices of RMS.
    • Capability to perform at the highest levels.
    • A full understanding of the company Safety and Quality Management System.
